Dad's Birthday Scarf

Dad's Birthday Scarf

Looking familiar? Remember Angie's iPod cosie? Laurie Perry's Magic Scarf. This is a present for my Dad's birthday tomorrow he will be 63. This is really unpractical of gift for him. We're living in Singapore and I knitted him a woolen scarf. But I think he might like it when he decides to travel to somewhere cold...

Lavender for Pynk

Isabeau Bag

This lavender knitted Isabeau Bag is for Pynk! This is significantly larger than the little purse I did 2 months ago so I am a little surprised I managed to complete it in 2 weeks. The reason for the rush to complete this is because this is also meant to be a belated birthday present for my dear cousin whom I haven't seen in months because we had a falling out and so this is also my way of a peace offering. I don't actually know if she will use this because she usually partial to backpacks... but it's 100% made my me and so she had better use it at least once. *Heehee!*

Isabeau Bag

While completing this I was noticing how it was falling in on itself so in bag-lining planning stage I decided to use iron-on interfacing to help give the bag more structure and I am happy to report it isn't as slouchy as it would've been. Though I was a little worried if the interfacing would make it too stiff... but actually it is looking and feeling okay.

Some details I need to admit... I wasn't a very obedient pattern follower with this project... I blame streaming TV for my lack of attention to certain parts where I should have been counting my rows and so some parts are longer than they need to among other itty-bitty inaccuracies.

Happy Belated Birthday Pynk!!

My next project.... is likely to be made with a sewing machine!

The uexpected prize and the unexpected iPod cosie

I won something for my first ever knitting project. Most unbelievable and really unexpected. I submitted some pictures of my Isabeau Purse to Sylvie of Chez Plum to show her my appreciation for sharing her darling pattern without realising that there was a contest. So it was really surprising to receive an email from her a few days ago informing me to pick any pattern from her site for free as my prize! Since I am loving the purse so much I picked the larger version of it, the Isabeau Tote. Thank you Sylvie for being so kind to think my modest little debut knitting project was worth a prize!

Angie's iPod Sock

In my previous post I ended off saying that I was going to knit a scarf for my friend Angie who is going to be relocating to Shanghai. I started knitting her scarf yesterday and was quite pleased with how it was beginning to look. This morning Caryne tells me that she found out that Angie doesn't wear scarves or beanies! And I'm not smart enough to knit gloves yet! The dramaz...

Angie's iPod Sock

I did recall though that the other girls bought her a new iPod so I thought... Ok... I will convert the scarf into a cosie! It fits perfectly! Feelng quite relieved and pleased that it worked out in the end. All that's left is to give this to Angie in all her Babarella glory! The pattern is just a really short version of The Magic Scarf by Laurie Perry The yarn used is Jaeger , Extra Fine Merino DK in Indigo.

So what this means now of course... I need to get back to the crocheted bag.
