Crochet Motif Bag

It's DONE and I am so glad it's completed... This was another
test-of-patience-project and required a lot of streaming
TV to go along with it. I think I completed Band of Brothers, L
Word (Season 1-5) and a little of Big Love. It has taken over a
month to complete because it was on hold while I knitted Pin's scarf and Angie's
iPod cosie.
This pattern is from Japanese Crochet Motif 2 book by Ondori. I had help at
the start and required some time to decipher the diagrams and a bit
of guessing. Also I found some help online from My Little
Mochi who so kindly did some generic Japanese pattern translation. For people like me
who are so crazy about Japanese patterns but can't understand the
language. The yarn I used was various colours of Nikkelon S Egypt
Super.

So after it was done... it's lining
time. After 5 hours and 3 attempts it was sewn with an
internal zipped pocket and a magnetic clasp! As you can see.... I
have amateur sewing machine skills. The basic lining was created
with help from FutureGirl's tutorial on Sewing a Lining for a Crochet Bag. I
was initially just going to sew a pocket then I stumbled upon
U-Handbag
and the owner Lisa has has many wonderful bag making tutorials on
her blog. (The other thing I'm into now... reading and
learning from photo-tutorials!)

And of course thanks to Dixie for all her moral support and also for lending me her camera at work today so I could take some snaps!
