Jasmine's Purse

Pencil Stripes Purse

So part 1 of my updates... My latest obsession has been learning to sew purses with purse frames. I started about 2 weekends ago with plastic frames I bought from Golden Dragon, an experiment I made for my sister-in-law's birthday present. It turned out not too bad. I had made one for myself too and realised after a week or so the plastic frame broke. Then again I am not the most delicate flower in the bunch so... for someone like me - plastic frames were not the best idea.

New Ideas

I need to organise myself with re-designing my blog and updating it. Seeing how my experiments are moving towards non-edible projects.

I need to update my finished projects:

I've sewn a blouse. *I know!!*
I've sewn and made 5 purses.
I've knitted a scarf.
Oh! And I baked Naan.

This weekend, hopefully I will get round to it....

Lavender for Pynk

Isabeau Bag

This lavender knitted Isabeau Bag is for Pynk! This is significantly larger than the little purse I did 2 months ago so I am a little surprised I managed to complete it in 2 weeks. The reason for the rush to complete this is because this is also meant to be a belated birthday present for my dear cousin whom I haven't seen in months because we had a falling out and so this is also my way of a peace offering. I don't actually know if she will use this because she usually partial to backpacks... but it's 100% made my me and so she had better use it at least once. *Heehee!*

Isabeau Bag

While completing this I was noticing how it was falling in on itself so in bag-lining planning stage I decided to use iron-on interfacing to help give the bag more structure and I am happy to report it isn't as slouchy as it would've been. Though I was a little worried if the interfacing would make it too stiff... but actually it is looking and feeling okay.

Some details I need to admit... I wasn't a very obedient pattern follower with this project... I blame streaming TV for my lack of attention to certain parts where I should have been counting my rows and so some parts are longer than they need to among other itty-bitty inaccuracies.

Happy Belated Birthday Pynk!!

My next project.... is likely to be made with a sewing machine!
